Widget setup guide
Your widgets, in a few steps
Seven main calendar choices keep the gallery easy to browse. Your existing designs are still available — choose them after adding a widget.
Add a calendar widget
- Open the app and allow Calendar access if you want to see your events.
- Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen. Choose Edit → Add Widget and search for Monthly Calendar Widgets.
- Choose Monthly, Weekly, or Small, then tap Add Widget.
- Touch and hold the added widget, choose Edit Widget → Design, and select your preferred design. Repeat for each widget.
| Gallery choice | Size | Design options |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Large | Full month designs, Liquid Glass, and progress styles |
| Weekly | Medium | Week designs, Events + Calendar, and progress styles |
| Small | Small | Compact calendar designs and progress styles |
| Custom Monthly 1 | Large | Saved monthly calendars, photo calendars, or photos |
| Custom Monthly 2 | Large | A separately selected saved monthly design |
| Custom Weekly 1 | Medium | Saved weekly calendars, photo calendars, or photos |
| Custom Weekly 2 | Medium | A separately selected saved weekly design |
The two custom entries for each size are independent places to use saved designs. You can add more instances of either entry. Older theme widgets keep working and remain available in Apple’s Other section. Lock Screen Countdown 1/2 and Stopwatch 1/2 each use a saved timer assigned through Show in Countdown 1/2 or Show in Stopwatch 1/2 in the app’s timer menu. The other utility styles follow the app’s active timer.
Create a photo or photo calendar
- In the app’s Widgets tab, tap the new widget card, choose Large or Medium, and continue.
- Choose Calendar for dates and events, or Photo only for an image without a calendar overlay.
- Under Background, choose Photo and select an image. A calendar can also use Color or Gradient; tap See all gradients for the full collection.
- Open Position & fit photo. Drag or use the position sliders, zoom, and choose Fill to crop or Fit to keep the whole photo. Optional photo ratios leave black bars where needed; the widget size stays fixed. Tap Done to keep framing or Cancel to discard it.
- For photo calendars, tap Match photo colors to apply a palette from the image on your device. Choosing or positioning a photo keeps your current colors until you tap this button. Advanced calendar settings contains templates, cell styling, colors, display options, and opacity controls.
- Check the preview, then tap Save and give the design a recognizable name.
Photo-only previews show only the image. Photo framing uses the same rendering code in the app and widget. Calendar previews contain sample events; your Home Screen uses your calendar data, and iOS applies your selected Default, Tinted, or Clear appearance.
Keep a photo and calendar side by side
Save two designs — for example, “Flowers calendar” and “Waterfall photo.” Add Custom Monthly 1 and Custom Monthly 2. For each, open Edit Widget → Design and choose its saved design. The same steps work for Custom Weekly 1 and Custom Weekly 2.
Use a saved card’s menu to Edit or Duplicate it. Creating or editing another design does not replace a widget’s selected design. App default follows the default design for that size in the app. Pro access is required to display custom widgets on the Home Screen.
If something looks different
- The wrong photo appears: open that Home Screen widget’s Edit Widget → Design and choose the saved photo by name rather than App default.
- You see calendar text over a photo: edit the saved design in the app, select Photo only, and save it.
- The image is cropped: open Position & fit photo and choose Fit, or adjust its position in Fill.
- Text needs more contrast: increase Photo darkening or adjust colors and cell styling in Advanced calendar settings.
- A widget hasn’t refreshed: open the app and check calendar access or Google sync. iOS controls refresh timing; updates may take a little time.
- You already use an older theme widget: keep it. Existing entries remain supported; use the seven main entries for new widgets.
